Ford offers a few engine options for the Bronco Sport. Base versions of the Bronco Sport feature a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder engine that pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission to produce 181 horsepower.
If you're looking to blaze the off-road trails, Bronco Sports in the Badlands and Heritage Limited trim levels sport a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission that generates 245 horsepower.
Performance
Ford equips the Bronco Sport with unique all-wheel-drive systems, depending on the engine configuration. Versions of the Bronco Sport that utilize the turbo three-cylinder engine receive a front-rear power split system and five drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Slippery, and Sand.
Models in the turbo-4 configuration get an all-wheel-drive system with a twin-clutch rear differential. These turbo four-cylinder models also offer the above driving modes and two additional drive modes: Rock Crawl and Mud/Ruts.
