2021 Ford Explorer | Brinson Ford of Athens in Athens, TXThe Ford Explorer has changed a lot over the years. The 2021 Ford Explorer in particular has gone through a plethora of upgrades from last year’s model. The Explorer remains the same rugged SUV you know and love, but with a few improvements here and there. We think you’ll be impressed by this year’s Explorer’s new and improved features.

1. Off-Roading Abilities

The Ford Explorer is, quite literally, an explorer. All trims are trail-ready, and they’re equipped with a Terrain Management System. The system lets you choose between modes, such as deep snow, trail, and towing. Once you select a mode, the Explorer adjusts its performance to be optimal for that circumstance. If you’re on a hill, the Explorer also has Hill Descent Control so you can manage your speed.
Outside of various terrain modes, four-wheel drive is available on every trim of the Explorer. Four-wheel-drive improves traction, so you can easily drive across slippery or loose terrain. Rear-wheel drive is also available on this vehicle.

2. Impeccable Safety

All vehicles come with safety components these days; that’s not special. What is special is that the Ford Explorer comes with standard safety features. Many of the Explorer’s competitors require you to upgrade to higher trims to obtain any form of safety technology: the Explorer outshines its competitors by a mile.
One of the standard safety features that the Ford Explorer has to offer is post-collision braking. Post-collision braking helps you prevent secondary collisions in the event of a collision accident; we haven’t seen this available on many competitor SUVs. If you’d like to upgrade beyond the standard safety features, you can do that too. Reverse brake control, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control are available on the Explorer’s higher trims.

3. Delightful Seating

Safety and performance are only part of what makes a vehicle feel luxurious. If your SUV isn’t comfortable, is it really as excellent as you initially thought? Luckily, there’s no such thing as discomfort in the Ford Explorer. If you’d like, you can avail of tri-diamond perforated leather seats in this SUV. You can also opt to have ventilated or heated front seats. You can heat the Explorer’s second row, too, which is something you don’t see in many vehicles.
A further highly unique feature of the Ford Explorer is its massage function. The Explorer’s driver can take advantage of a nice, fatigue-reducing massage on the road. The Explorer’s massage function isn’t too relaxing, so it won’t impact your concentration. However, the massage is still powerful enough to make your muscles feel cared for. Massage functions aren’t common in SUVs of this class, so consider yourself very lucky if you purchase this vehicle.
