The place is available for events like birthday parties and business retreats, but reservations are required.
In addition, there is a picnic area with tables and grills, so you can pack a lunch and make a day of it.
Athens Farmer’s Market
The Athens Farmer’s Market is a great attraction that provides fresh, locally-grown produce and goods to the residents of Athens. The market is open every Saturday from May to October and is located at the Athens City Park on South Palestine Street. Some goods at the market include fruits, vegetables, baked goods, plants, and handmade crafts.
The market also features live music and other entertainment on select days. They also have holiday markets and pop-up markets during the off-season. Shopping at the Athens Farmer’s Market is a great way to support local farmers and businesses while getting fresh, healthy food for your family.
Tara Vineyard and Winery
Tara Vineyard and Winery is a beautiful property where you can find a variety of wines, from fruity to dry, red to white. The vineyard is gorgeous, with its rows of grapevines and picturesque scenery. The winery also offers tours, so you can learn about the process of making wine.
Visitors can also enjoy a picnic lunch with a glass of wine on the grounds or stroll through the vineyards. Please drink responsibly and in moderation. In addition, Tara Vineyard and Winery also features an inn that offers overnight accommodation if you’re considering a weekend gateway.
Texas Freshwater Fisheries and Complex
Take in the breathtaking surroundings as you drive to Texas Freshwater Fisheries & Complex in your elegant and comfy Ford Edge with heated seats. Visitors can tour the hatchery, observe fish being fed, discover how to manage fisheries and aquaculture, and wander around the wetlands region.
The Education Center is open to the public from Wednesday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and provides workshops and events for all ages.
