2021 Ford F-150 | Brinson Ford Lincoln of Athens in Athens, TXThe Ford F-150 has gone through a redesign for the 2021 model, drawing acclaim from both critics and consumers. New driver-oriented, inventive features make the F-150 the truck to check out this year. Let’s look at some of the most noteworthy changes in the 2021 Ford F-150.

Built Ford Tough

It’s not just a motto. The new F-150 is the only truck in its class with a body built from high-strength, dent-resistant, military-grade aluminum alloy. This material allows for its body to be as strong as steel but is far lighter. Combined with its hardened steel frame, the truck can easily support its best-in-class maximum payload of 8,500lbs.

Groundbreaking Interior Features

Infotainment

Screen sizes for previous F-150 infotainment systems were 4.2 inches for standard screens and 8.0 inches for higher-end trims. The new infotainment comes in a standard 8.0-inch screen and is upgradeable to a new 12.0-inch screen.
The F-150’s infotainment also gets an upgrade to the next-gen SYNC4 system. SYNC 4 has 2x the computing power and comes with a SiriusXM satellite radio with 360 XL. 360 XL adds streaming features to SiriusXM, giving users access to much more content.

Interior Work Surface

The F-150 supports the working man and woman with an optional center console that transforms into the Interior Work Surface. The shift lever folds flat as the table opens into position. On trucks with a front bench seat, the Interior Work Surface drops out of the center seat. Both surfaces are large enough to accommodate a large laptop and notebook.

Sleeper Seats

In the SuperCrew and SuperCab models, front passengers can utilize the available sleeper seats if they need some shuteye. These seats lay back to create a nearly 180-degree sleep surface. And portions of the seats automatically raise and adjust to fill in gaps, creating a flat continuous surface.

Class-Exclusive Exterior Features

Power Generator

The new available ProPower Onboard converts the F-150 into a worksite generator. Electrical outlets in the cab and truck bed wall provide three outputs: 2.0kW, 2.4kW, and 7.2kW.  Owners can monitor power consumption using SYNC4 from the cab or on their phone with the FordPass App.

Work Oriented Tailgate

Owners can use their vehicle fob to operate the optional power tailgate. The tailgate gives them access to the new tailgate work surface. The work surface includes a cup holder, small-item storage, and practical work tools like rulers and clamp pockets.

Exterior Zone Lighting

Available selectable zone lighting lets you continue working even after the sun’s gone down. Using the Ford Pass App, owners can illuminate the truck bed and any or all areas 360 degrees around the vehicle.

New Hybrid Engine

The new 3.5L, V6, Powerboost hybrid engine comes with more than enough power to spare while remaining fuel-efficient. It boasts a combined EPA of 24 MPG and yet, can comfortably tow up to 12,700lbs.
